On My Shipping Career
I Worked as Marine Engineer with SCI from 1975 to 1980 and then with Anglo Eastern for till 1996. Final six years of My Shipping career was with Eurasia ship management before shifting ashore in 2002 as a professor in MANET Pune and 2004, I was elevated to the post of Principal.
Manet Education Philosphy
We believe in " To Harness the Knowledge of Science and Technology for the Welfare of the Society "
MANET envisages equipping students with the skills and knowledge that will stand them in good stead in the years to come. A set of dedicated and aptly qualified faculty, committed to their jobs is a forte of the Academy
Placement Record of Manet is 100%
Due to the rise in competition in the marine and the related industry the mariner today is expected to be a virtuoso. MANET through its various programmes and activities strives to facilitate its cadets to excel in his career of choice. Moreover, we are also in contact with the leading Marine Companies, both Indian and foreign, and have creditably placed all our cadets who have passed the course.
Ship IN Campus
Ship in Campus “Training Ship Vishvanath” occupies a place of pride amongst MANET. It is infact a actual working engine room of the ship where all the machinery parts were bought from ships in Alang. Our Faculty and students worked hard to get the defunct equipment working.
The building facet is concrete but the stern and inside is all from the ship parts. We even have a propeller that moves and we use this facility to give total hands on training to Our students.
Getting Them Ship ready
The inside of the Ship In Campus “ Training Ship Vishvanath” resembles an engine room of the ship in design, construction and lighting arrangement as well. When our engineering cadets go onboard, they are ship ready to work and carry on the hard working legacy of Indian seafarers.
360 Degree Ship Simulator
Asia’s first 360 degree ship simulator was installed in our campus in association with MOLMI on 21st Sept. 2006 at MANET, LONI-KALBHOR, PUNE . Apart from Navigation simulators courses for deck officers, MANET conducts two courses in the Engineering stream namely Aux engine maintenance course. Lathe & Welding w/shop course. Every year 25- 30 of our engineering students are absorbed in MOLMI and rest in Barbers and others Top Ship Management Organization.
Growth Is Our MANTRA
We have excellent boat club at our picturesque campus and we will be starting Pre Sea Deck Cadets course from this session onwards.
Campus is well spread and very beautiful
Our Parent Group MAEER has been running 50 academic centers of excellence in and around Pune. ( adding laughingly)…. To let you on to a secret, this farm house belonged to the original showman The RAJ Kapoor. So we have tried to make the campus grand as in Movies. …. We believe in The grandeur combined with somber academic excellence
On SAGAR RATNA Awards
MAEER was the first private engineering education centre set up in 1983 with a single minded vision to developing technocrats to shape India’s future.
To celebrate 25th anniversary of MAEER, we have instituted SAGAR RATNA awards to honour the seafarers and to promote shipping in our sphere of influence.
We at MANET salute the spirit of excellence in the Maritime Sphere and awards ceremony will be conducted on 26th April 2008 in Pune.
All are invited
We Invite all to be part of these awards ceremony that will become an annual feature in Indian Maritime calendar.
